RE: Points, sessions etc

Appreciate the clarification maree; I was a bit concussed as to how the points worked exactly but that’s probably just me.

 

I took a couple of photo’s in the gym today.  Managed to snap mitch doing Mc2!  Will get them on as soon as I work out how.

 

Shake some moves for me at ‘zumba’ if you end up there!

Hi guys, just got back from oz. not overly happy about the change of temperature but never mind! Keen to get back into the gym, need to get back on track after backsliding on holiday. I won’t get to 8 classes this month but will give it a good crack next month. Do we finish on august 20th? Thought we went to the end of august? Will check the blog site. Glad we’re all talking about this as it is tough to look at the points board right now!

I’m still totally committed to getting through this with you all.

Less than a month to go now, so I’m sure we can all go hard for the final stretch!

This may sound sad – or is it just that I am a fitness freak - but I have already planned an attack on how to get through the 8 classes for August. I urge you all to give it your best shot, even if you go for 4 classes due to life’s other commitments.

I’ll be out of town with work commitments (and mandatory attendance at All Blacks v Wallabies in Chch) on 7th/8th, but otherwise should be around.

Although I haven’t made it to the 6am role calls, I have really taken a lot out of the sessions with Zach.

Let’s finish with a bang team. All the effort now will make the party on 21st August worth it!!

Hi all

I’m probably one of those guilty of sporadic attention to the competition as I try to juggle everything. But am keen to do a push for the last month.

As I understand it, we can maximse points by:

-doing the 8 classes between 1-20 August and

-getting everyone to blogg each day

Then our individual attendance points or doing group sessions are just welcome extra points on top of that.

So I guess the question is how many people can commit to those basics?

Finally I’ve really enjoyed all the sessions I’ve attended with Zach and Rick, but like Jen, family commitments really limit my time in the evenings and weekends. Never thought I’d ever be at the gym at 6am but team guilt got me there in the school holidays for Rick’s boot camp because I had no other free time to go!

Hi Zach & all,

Have just read your blog - I have just been down to the gym and seen the points table and likewise, feel pretty despondent, especially considering Maree and I have (stupidly?) just done 3 classes today in an attempt to get to the 8 for the month (after being away on holiday).

However, those of us who have gotten together a few times have enjoyed ourselves I think and I would be very keen to carry on with these meetings. Re your sessions Zach, I am one who has not managed to get along to any of yours and this has been because the times just didn't suit. Weekends and evenings are pretty difficult for me (kids!) but I'll try my best. Others in the team will no doubt have other thoughts about suitable times?!

Very keen to hear what other people think?!

For  a little spice on everyones blog, lets add some photos

 

Send in 2 training photos of you or anyone in your team training some time during this 12 week challenge to my email address by Monday 2nd august at 12pm for a 30 point top up.

 

Any photo will do but has to be obvious it is some one in your team and they are training

That’s 2 photos per team. Hopefully they are from 2 separate people within your team and cant have the same pic as another team so first in first served

Not long till the end now folks we are nearing the end and there is a BIG BIG party being planned for the 21st August at the Paddington Bar in Parnell. An apt end to the challenge that everone has done so well at, and details will be up around the gym soon. Be a great night, lots of prizes up for grabs and a free dinner and more prizes for the winning team so don’t take the foot off the gas. Partners are of course invited as is most of the gym, so they can all come and cheer on you evolutions bunnies and clap and cheer also

 

I have got some special conditions for  the last month and group fitness points so will keep you posted on Monday about the conditions and how the final months points will be accumulated

I completely understand what you're saying Jennifer and with only a few weeks to go I think we can turn this around and finish strong. GET INTO THE GYM!

Hi Guys,

 

Been looking at all our attendance and I have been seeing a little bit of a slip! We are miles behind on the points aswell, Lets try to maximize ourselves and get into the gym because there is not long to go!!!

I am back at uni now myself and am a little hesitant to offer up my time due to small numbers I got in the first 6 weeks, however if you guys get together and are very keen for a session all you gotta do is let me know what times suit you and I will see if I can fit my time around that.

Recognise this guy??

Need some inspiration??

Want to see what years of dedication and commitment looks like??

 

Then come and see Athena Team leader & Genesis PT, Rick Ujfalussy, strut his stuff (in his Speedos) at the 2010 Counties Manukau Bodybuilding Championships.

 

Rick’s been eating nothing but chicken and air but has also been training very hard at the gym so it would be great to get as much support for him this weekend as we can.

 

He currently holds the title of ‘Mr Waikato’ and his dedication means he’s got a great chance of picking up another title on Saturday.

 

When:    This coming Saturday 24th July

 

Where:   Hawkins Theatre in Papakura

                13 Ray Small Drive (of Elliot St)

 

Cost:       $15.00 for pre-judging starting at 1pm & $25.00

                 for the finals which starts at 6:30pm.

 

There will be Genesis staff there and it would be great to get some gym members along to cheer Rick on (and put the pressure on him to perform in front of us)

quiz night

 

 

Oh how funny was the quiz night!!??

Hats off to all teams who managed to scrape a team together in the school holidays and get some solid points

EVERY team managed to get a table of 5 people along and wearing a shirt so all get the maximum of 120 points which will be added next week.

Its becoming a tight race and im sure that we will have an exciting finish, with team Zeus mixing it up with the Septu team, showing what regular gym attendance and solid class attendance will get you points wise. Team Ares is holding steady yet I feel like they will be strong finishes and are now getting their team a little more hard core. Team maru needs just a fraction more consistency to mix it with the big boys and Minerva got off the bottom and have the lead in sight. Athena is a sleeping giant I think also and have plenty of motivation going ahead.

 

Just a heads up…. The Evolution Challenge will finish on AUGUST 20th August  so we can have a prize giving function on the Saturday 21st a chance to get together and share stories and experiences and throw out some trophies and commend every participant in a small wee way.

 

Keep up the hard work folks, keep your team motivated, an remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday

Morning Team Athena

My apologies for the slack attendance I fell off the wagon for a
little bit due to work commitment but I had my first session back
with Rick last night and loved it felt good this morning and ready to
take the "bull by the horns", I will be at quiz night on Wednesday

Bon Voyage

A quick blog before I take to the high seas (hopefully not too high!).  I hope everyone keeps their gym visits (at least) up as its really important with people away!  The points/gym visits that you guys earn while others are away get averaged out for the people away i.e. if you all do the 4 gym visits a week then those that are away also get credited the equivalent points.  I hope that makes sense.

Go hard for quiz night I know it might be hard to pull 5 together at the moment but it seems like a real no brainer for some much needed extra points (dont forget the T-shirts!).

One last thing people need to say now if they are not committed to the challenge as at the 8 week mark people can drop off and new people can come in BUT Justin needs to know about this ASAP.  As they say speak now or forever hold your peace! 

Jenifer and I will be hoisting the sails (no mean feat apparently), wrestling wine caps, lunging around the deck and maybe even terrifying the locals with a wee sprint up and down the beach (cocktail in hand of course)!  We will, of course, be thinking of you all as you go hard for the next 10 days.

Re-flex (Pump) v Quiz night

Hi All,
 
Sounds like an awesome effort from you all at yesterday's session. Great to see a few of you on Wednesday night too.
 
How are we placed as a team to have 5 people along at 7pm on Wednesday for the Quiz night?
 
I have been planning to squat, lunge and sweat my way through the Re-Flex class, so I could be at the Quiz night at 8pm.
 
Jennifer, Maree, you're off the hook for this one since you will be working hard crewing the yacht in Tonga - and Zach snowboarding in Queenstown.
 
This is a good way for the team to pick up a few extra points, so who's in?
 
Rick, do you know if Shane is in town on the 14th?

HOW MANY OTHER TEAM P.T.'S COULD GET AWAY WITH THIS OUTFIT?!

After our weights session with Rick today Im pretty sure hes thinking about entering us in a group body building competition at the end of this challenge…….and hey, at least Kirk, Jenifer and I would be looking pretty fine, or maybe interesting would be a better word to use!!!  You go Rick!  Its fantastic to have someone who is so passionate about what they do and who can share his knowledge so freely.  Ive learnt so much about form when using weights and the benefits of weights for weight loss and shaping/firming.  Thanks for the great session today, we all felt challenged but enjoyed it too.  Maree.

Quiz night for Bonus points

 

 

Time for some smarts and not braun now folks!!!

 

Evolution QUIZ NIGHT team challenge

 

Wednesday 14th JULY, that’s next Wednesday 7pm

 

100 points are up for grabs for entering a team of 5

 

Thought it was a nice way to compete for points withour crackin a sweat.

Will be a great night to be had by all who can make it. Gives some mums a chance who are on holiday or too busy to not have to sweat about letting the team down

 

So enter a team

-          Over $1500 worth of Prizes to be won!

-          Kick off, 7pm (be early to get a seat)

-           5 people per team

-          Entry is $10 per person (pretty cheap for a great night anyways!!)

-          Everyone gets a complimentary Tui Blond or House Wine on entry (already everyone wins)

 

Wear team t-shirts to get a bonus 20 points (all must be wearing team issue to obtain)

 

Ask team PTs for more info, if you have more than 5 that’s ok just more brains at your table but doesn’t mean you’ll win

Hoping all is well

Hiya Guys,

 

Haven’t blogged for a couple of weeks so thought I would drop a note.

Hi Rick,

Am very keen, no, must be honest, am not keen, but willing to attend 6am bootcamp on Wed morning. Have been in Aust. and therefore away from the gym for 8 days so will be hard to get back into gear. Hope Fiji has been good and that you managed to get your 1kg of chicken each day without too much drama!!!
